That First Cut

A girl is born. She gets older. Her idea of romantic love is prince charming. The man of her dreams is coming to find her. She wants this one guy to be her rock. In her late teens she falls madly in love with a guy. He mistreats her and breaks her heart into a million pieces. BOOM. The disillusionment sets in. “Forget love. I am just going to have fun”. The defense mechanism takes root. Before you know it she has had a string of short term encounters and realizes that she is not happy.

A boy is born. He gets older. His idea of romantic love is the feeling he has for that one magical girl. He gets nervous when he sees her. He just wants to protect her and love her.  There are no thoughts of infidelity. It is just pure love. He acts nice to her. Then she breaks his heart. OUCH. The disillusionment sets in. “ Girls sucks, they hate nice guys. Forget love. I am just going to have fun with as many as I can”. The defense mechanism takes root. Before you know it he has had a string of short term encounters and realizes that he is not happy.
